Music has been an essential part of his life since an early age. Born in a family of musicians, he started playing the piano at 4 and in a few years, at the age of 9, he accompanied solo singers and the choir of his hometown School of Music.
He was accepted at the National School of Art in Havana where he studied Music and Arts and at 16 years old he moved to Mexico where he was appointed as chief teacher of classical music at the Zihuatanejo Musical Institute.
He become a professional musician at just 18 and joined his parents and brothers in the Eliseo y su Combo band, performing a vast repertoire of Jazz and Cuban music.
The 2000s marked a huge turning point in his career. He took part as the artistic musical director in the major Cuban bands which accompany the most renowned Cuban singers like Haila Mompie and Tania Pantoja. He has also been director and arranger for the Lady Salsa musical.
During his time in London and Havana, from 2003 to 2008, he also wrote music for television, radio ads and film.
He has recently moved to Italy.
Aismar is the pianist of Mercadonegro Orquestra, which performs on the most important stages of Mexico, Colombia and Europe, including Montreaux Jazz Festival, Latinossegor and Festival Latinoamericando in Milan.
He played at the Umbria Jazz Festival in 2013, the Arosa Jazz Festival in 2018 and the Biella Jazz Club 2018 and 2019.
